Ghost Chili Apple- Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce Yes, that ghost chili. This notoriously spicy pepper has earned its reputation as one of the true heart-breakers of the chili world—it’s every bit as formidable as everyone says it is. And while this sauce doesn’t seek to tame it—we’re crazy for heat, after all—we wanted to make it as approachable as possible. The natural sweetness of fresh local Honey crisp apples provide a calming counterpoint to the fiery ghost chilies, while a bit of citrus and vinegar bring additional balance and contrast, resulting in a sauce that’s as flavorful and interesting as it is spicy. Which is to say, very! If you’re new to ghost chili sauce, add it to your meal sparingly at first. We think it makes a great match for Black Bean Burgers WIth Ghost Chili Apple Slaw.
