Once upon a time, a man tried a bowl of homemade chili and thought "Well, this won't do. Let's see if we can crank up the heat a bit." And then like a bolt of lightning (blue lightnin', if you will...), it hit him - "I should grow a ridiculous amount of hot peppers, design my own recipe for hot sauce, and make it available to the world to spice up their meals, and their lives!" After two years of practice, he finally got it just right - with more than 75 super hot pepper plants in the garden, and some experimentation with spices and blends, the recipe was finally complete. And so, Blue Lightnin' was born. This sauce is no joke - I highly recommend using it sparingly until you know how much you can handle. And keep it far, far away from your eyes, nose, ears, kids, pets, or really anything that isn’t food. The heat comes from some of the spiciest habanero pepper breeds in the world; the flavor comes from an abundance of oranges and a secret blend of spices. The peppers are grown organically in the garden, then hand-curated to select only the best peppers to be added to the blend of spices before it is cooked, bottled, sealed, and shipped. The bottles are shelf stable and will last up to two months once opened and refrigerated, but once you try it, I'm confident that it will be empty long before that expiration date. Spicy-osity: VERY HOT. Like... you're going to feel this one on your tongue for awhile. I always keep the seeds in the sauce, and you're going to know it.
